Usually, when discussing IPX5 and IPX6 spray nozzles, we are referring to the hose nozzles in accordance with IEC60529. However, we recently received an inquiry about an IPX5 nozzle from UN Regulation No.100-03, and the figure of the nozzle comes from IEC60034-5. This differs from the hose nozzles of IEC60529 in terms of dimensions, delivery rate, and water pressure.
Diffrences
Please check the diffrences below;
1.Dimensions
One notable difference is in the dimensions of the nozzles. The IEC60529 IPX5/6 nozzles have a dimension of 8mm, whereas the hose nozzles from IEC60034-5 have a dimension of 6mm. Please refer to the figures below for visual representation:
As our engineers have pointed out, the variation between a 6mm and an 8mm specification predominantly influences the size of water splash.

What we did for a customized IPX5 nozzle in accordance in IEC60034-5 (BND-IPX5PS)
Firstly, we revised the dimension to 6mm to match the hose nozzles in IEC60034-5. Additionally, we changed the pressure gauge to have a smaller range, which allows for more accurate measurements.

The calibration certificate was obtained from an accredited laboratory in compliance with ISO 17025 standards.
